The CIB1 target, also called Calcium And Integrin Binding 1, is a small EF-hand calcium-binding protein that associates with the cytoplasmic tail of integrin subunits and participates in integrin signaling, cell migration, proliferation, and the cellular DNA damage response. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against recombinant human CIB1 and recognizes the endogenous protein in both human and rat samples.

Polyclonal antibodies give broader epitope coverage than monoclonal clones, which is useful when probing native CIB1 in whole-cell lysates where multiple conformational or post-translationally modified forms may coexist. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of secondary detection chemistry open, allowing the same primary to be paired with HRP, fluorescent, or biotin-labeled reporters as a given Western blot experiment requires.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. For long-term stability it is best to aliquot and freeze the vial at -20 °C; the glycerol formulation helps limit freeze-thaw damage to the antibody. Short-term storage at 4 °C is appropriate for working aliquots. Optimal working dilution for Western blot should be determined empirically for each lysate and detection system, starting at lower antibody concentrations for high-abundance targets.
