Anti-chromogranin A Antibody

Chromogranin A is a 49 kDa acidic glycoprotein packaged into the dense-core secretory granules of neurons and neuroendocrine cells, where it co-stores with peptide hormones and biogenic amines throughout the diffuse endocrine system. A mouse monoclonal reagent raised against this target, supplied by Antibodies.com, is offered as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples.

The unconjugated format gives laboratories full control over the secondary detection chemistry, supporting HRP-DAB chromogenic staining, alkaline phosphatase chromogens, or fluorescent secondaries for multiplex immunofluorescence workflows. In research and pathology, anti-chromogranin A staining is used to identify neuroendocrine differentiation in pheochromocytoma of the adrenal medulla, gastrointestinal and bronchial carcinoid tumors, pancreatic islet cell neoplasms, medullary thyroid carcinoma, and small cell lung carcinoma, generally producing coarse granular cytoplasmic reactivity in cells retaining secretory granule content.
