Raised in rabbit against the CHRFAM7A fusion protein, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 200 µl of liquid antiserum and detects endogenous levels of the CHRFAM7A hybrid protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. The CHRFAM7A gene is uniquely human, arising from a partial duplication of the CHRNA7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor on chromosome 15, which splices CHRNA7 exons 5-10 to FAM7A exons A-E. The resulting fusion protein retains the extracellular ligand-binding domain of α7 nAChR joined to a FAM7A-derived C-terminus, where it acts as a dominant-negative modulator of nicotinic receptor surface expression and contributes to cholinergic anti-inflammatory signaling, a feature relevant to neuroinflammation research and to the 15q13.3 schizophrenia-associated locus.

Affinity-purified and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded tissue, the antibody is formulated in PBS (pH 7.3) containing 0.05% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Recommended starting dilutions are 1:500-1:2000 for WB and 1:50-1:200 for IHC, with the target protein migrating near 46 kDa. The reagent is shipped liquid and should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability, with repeated freeze-thaw cycles avoided. For research use only.
