This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets CHOP, a stress-induced transcription factor (also known as DDIT3 and GADD153) that drives pro-apoptotic gene expression during prolonged endoplasmic reticulum stress and the unfolded protein response (UPR).

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, the reagent recognizes an epitope surrounding residue Q26 of human CHOP and cross-reacts with mouse. Investigators commonly apply it to monitor UPR activation triggered by tunicamycin, thapsigargin, brefeldin A, or other pharmacological stressors in cultured cells, and to study ER-stress involvement in cancer biology, neurodegeneration, diabetes, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and chemically induced cytotoxicity.

The antibody is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated stock at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH ~7.2) containing 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. Aliquot upon arrival to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated, and protect from light; for longer-term storage keep working aliquots frozen at -20°C.
