The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised against CHMP2B, a charged multivesicular body protein that forms part of the ESCRT-III membrane-remodeling complex. This protein participates in late endosomal sorting, multivesicular body biogenesis, and the final abscission step of cytokinesis, and loss-of-function mutations in CHMP2B cause frontotemporal dementia linked to chromosome 3 as well as ALS-associated motor neuron phenotypes.

Provided as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit polyclonal sera, the antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It cross-reacts with CHMP2B from human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting parallel studies of patient tissue, knock-in mouse models, and rat neuronal cultures. Common uses include probing ESCRT-III assembly on endosomal membranes, monitoring CHMP2B aggregation in FTD-affected cortex and hippocampal sections, and tracking protein redistribution in cells expressing mutant CHMP2B variants.

The unconjugated format lets researchers pair the primary with their preferred HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary. Standard practice is to aliquot the polyclonal reagent into single-use volumes upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, keeping working stocks refrigerated while reserving a frozen vial for long-term storage.
