Raised in rabbit against human choline kinase alpha (CHKA), this unconjugated IgG polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl aliquot and validated for Western blot detection of the CHKA protein in human samples. CHKA is the cytosolic enzyme that catalyses the first committed step of the Kennedy pathway, phosphorylating choline to phosphocholine for membrane phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis.

The CHKA gene maps to human chromosome 11q13.2, and elevated CHKA expression has been reported across multiple tumour types, making well-characterised anti-CHKA reagents a routine requirement for laboratories investigating phospholipid metabolism, cancer cell proliferation, and related signalling pathways. The polyclonal format offers broad epitope coverage, and pairing the unconjugated antibody with a user-selected secondary reagent and detection chemistry provides flexibility for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot workflows.

For blotting work, only a few µL of working dilution are typically applied per lane of a polyacrylamide gel, with lysates prepared from cultured human cell lines or tissue material. The antibody should be stored refrigerated for routine use and frozen in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw loss of activity, following standard immunoblot laboratory practice to preserve performance across repeated experiments.
