Checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase central to the DNA damage response, where it enforces S-phase and G2/M cell cycle arrest after replication stress or genotoxic insult. The Antibodies.com Anti-Chk1 Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal, unconjugated primary antibody raised against the human protein and supplied as 100 µl of reagent for Western blot and ELISA workflows.

Chk1 is phosphorylated and activated primarily by ATR, and the resulting signaling cascade is a major focus of oncology research because checkpoint abrogation can sensitize tumor cells to DNA-damaging agents and PARP or ATR inhibitors. Researchers use this reagent to monitor Chk1 expression and phosphorylation status in cell lysates, to profile checkpoint signaling across cancer cell lines, and to evaluate responses to small-molecule Chk1 inhibitors in translational studies. The polyclonal format provides broad epitope coverage for tracking endogenous Chk1 as well as tagged overexpression constructs.

For best results, store at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light during handling. The reagent is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, supporting studies in cell biology, DNA repair, and translational cancer research.
