CHD4, a chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein also known as Mi-2β, forms the catalytic core of the NuRD (Nucleosome Remodeling and Deacetylase) chromatin remodeling complex. This mouse monoclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against human CHD4 and is validated for western blot detection in cell lysates and tissue extracts. CHD4 functions as an ATP-dependent helicase that remodels nucleosomes and recruits histone deacetylase activity, linking chromatin remodeling to epigenetic transcriptional repression and the cellular DNA damage response.

Because CHD4 plays a documented role in double-strand break repair and is recurrently mutated or misregulated in several cancer types, this unconjugated 50 µl vial is widely used to probe protein expression levels, NuRD complex assembly, and chromatin-associated functions in human cell lines and primary samples. The reagent is supplied at a working concentration appropriate for immunoblotting workflows and is intended for research use only; it is not appropriate for diagnostic, therapeutic, or in vivo applications.

Storage handling: keep refrigerated upon arrival, and for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The IgG isotype keeps background low in standard immunoblotting detection protocols, while the unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the primary with their preferred secondary reagent and detection chemistry.
