Anti-CHAT Antibody

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody targets CHAT (Choline O-acetyltransferase), also known as CHOACTase or Choline acetylase, and is offered as a 50 µl aliquot at a concentration of 1.0 mg/mL. The reagent was raised against a recombinant human CHAT immunogen and affinity-purified to detect the endogenous level of total CHAT protein in samples derived from human, mouse, and rat. It is unconjugated and of the IgG isotype, making it suitable for use in standard immunodetection workflows including Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF). The antibody is shipped at 4 °C in a phosphate-buffered saline formulation at pH 7.4 containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, with no Mg²⁺ or Ca²⁺ added. For long-term integrity, the supplier recommends aliquoting upon delivery and storing the vial at −20 °C while avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles. CHAT is widely used as a cholinergic neuron marker, supporting neuroscience and neuropharmacology research where cholinergic signalling is under investigation.
