Cofilin-1 (CFL1), the actin-binding phosphoprotein responsible for actin filament severing and turnover in eukaryotic cells, is the immunogen target of this rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com. The unconjugated reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial and has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications across human, mouse, and rat samples. Cofilin-1, a member of the ADF (actin depolymerizing factor) family, runs at approximately 18 kDa on SDS-PAGE and is regulated by phosphorylation at Ser3 by LIM kinases and by dephosphorylation by slingshot and chronophin phosphatases. The protein's activity is essential for cytoskeletal remodeling, lamellipodial protrusion, directed cell migration, cytokinesis, synaptic plasticity, and immune cell chemotaxis, and altered CFL1 expression has been linked to tumor invasion and metastasis in multiple cancer types. Researchers use this reagent to detect endogenous CFL1 in cell lysates, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, and suspended cell populations. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw damage to the antibody. For research use only.
