Carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) is a serine hydrolase expressed predominantly in the liver, small intestine, and kidney, where it hydrolyzes ester and amide bonds in xenobiotics, prodrugs, and endogenous lipids. Researchers use this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com to detect endogenous CES2 in human, mouse, and rat tissue lysates and fixed sections by Western blot and immunohistochemistry.
Raised in rabbit and purified to approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline at pH 7.2 with 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid stock in a single vial. Its multi-species reactivity profile supports comparative studies of intestinal and hepatic esterase activity in drug-metabolism and toxicology workflows. For best results, refrigerate the vial on arrival, prepare single-use aliquots, and protect from light to preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
