Anti-CEP120 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the 120 kDa centrosomal protein CEP120 (gene locus5q23.2; aliases CCDC100, FLJ36090), this unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes the centrosome-associated factor that drives procentriole elongation and is required for recruitment of daughter centriole components such as CENPJ during S and G2 phase of the cell cycle.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody localizes CEP120 at the pericentriolar matrix of dividing cells. It is applied by groups studying centriole duplication, ciliogenesis, primary cilium formation, mitotic spindle assembly, and neural tube closure, and by teams dissecting the molecular pathology of Joubert syndrome 31 and short-rib thoracic dysplasia 13, in which CEP120 missense mutations (A199P, V194A, I949S, I975S) and truncating alleles (R151X) have been linked to reduced cilia number and abnormal centriole counts in patient fibroblasts.
