Centrosomal Protein 120 (CEP120), also annotated as CCDC100, is a daughter centriole-enriched factor required for centriole duplication, elongation, and maturation, and for the assembly of distal and subdistal appendages that enable primary cilia formation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl vial and has been validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, with reactivity confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples.
CEP120 sits within the CEP120–C2CD3–Talpid3 axis that recruits distal appendage components to nascent centrioles, and biallelic mutations in the gene at chromosome 5q23.2 underlie Joubert syndrome type 31 and short-rib thoracic dysplasia type 13. Work on centrosome biogenesis, mitotic spindle assembly, neural progenitor self-renewal, and ciliopathy mechanisms can use this reagent to detect endogenous CEP120 in cell lysates and tissue sections.
For handling, store the vial frozen at -20°C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity. For research use only.
