Anti-CENPE Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against human Centromere Protein E (CENPE), a ~270 kDa kinesin-7 family motor (KIF10) that localizes to kinetochores during mitosis and drives chromosome congression at the metaphase plate. CENPE expression is elevated in actively proliferating tissues and has been documented across several solid tumors, including breast, lung, and hepatocellular carcinoma, where it is studied as a proliferation marker and as the molecular target of allosteric inhibitors such as GSK923295.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, supporting detection of the native protein in cell lysates and in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Common uses include analysis of mitotic spindle assembly, chromosome alignment, and CENPE-dependent kinetochore-microtubule attachment, alongside evaluation of CENPE as a candidate biomarker in tumor proliferation studies. On Western blot the expected band corresponds to the predicted molecular weight for CENPE; in IHC, kinetochore and mitotic-figure staining patterns are typically observed. To preserve activity, keep the vial refrigerated between uses and limit freeze-thaw cycles by preparing small working aliquots.
