Anti-CEL Antibody

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human Carboxyl Ester Lipase (CEL), a bile-salt-stimulated lipolytic enzyme secreted by pancreatic acinar cells and by lactating mammary epithelium. The antibody is supplied as 100 µL of liquid and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous human protein in cell and tissue lysates. CEL hydrolyzes dietary cholesteryl esters and triglycerides during intestinal digestion, and germline single-base deletions or variable-number tandem-repeat expansions in the CEL gene are causally linked to Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young type 8 (MODY8) and to a syndrome of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency with lipomatosis.
