CEACAM5 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen-related Cell Adhesion Molecule 5), also referred to as CEA, is a heavily glycosylated cell-surface glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates homophilic cell adhesion, modulates intracellular signaling, and participates in host-microbe interactions at mucosal surfaces. Because its expression is strongly elevated in epithelial carcinomas, it serves as a long-standing clinical biomarker for colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, and non-small cell lung cancers, making it a frequent target in oncology research, tumor marker validation, and studies of metastatic colonization.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.7, and is validated for Western blot detection of CEACAM5 in human and rat samples. The polyclonal format targets multiple epitopes across the protein, which helps maintain signal in expression profiling, knockdown verification, and overexpression studies where a single monoclonal epitope may be lost. Provided as a 100 µl vial, the antibody supports immunoblotting workflows that require consistent recognition of both native and denatured forms of the glycoprotein.
