Anti-CEA Antibody [CEA-Y1]

The CEA-Y1 clone, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated mouse monoclonal, targets carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA / CEACAM5), a heavily glycosylated cell-surface glycoprotein widely used as a tumor marker in colorectal adenocarcinoma research. Each vial contains 100 µg of lyophilised IgG1 from murine host, intended for reconstitution into a working stock suitable for ELISA and Western Blot workflows. The antibody is reactive with human CEA and does not display significant cross-reactivity with the closely related CEACAM6 (NCA) normal cross-reacting antigen, supporting its use as a selective probe for the CEA isoform expressed in carcinomas and shed into circulation. Following reconstitution in PBS, aliquots may be stored frozen below -20 °C in single-use fractions to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity. The lyophilised format in a single vial extends pre-opening shelf life, and the unconjugated preparation allows flexible coupling to reporters or beads depending on the assay design.
