Raised in rabbit against an internal peptide region of Chromodomain Y-linked 1 (CDY1), this unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the endogenous testis-enriched histone acetyltransferase that drives histone H4 hyperacetylation in late spermatids. The CDY1 gene sits within a palindrome on the human Y chromosome (UniProt Q9Y6F8), is expressed predominantly in testis, and has been mechanistically linked to the histone-to-protamine transition that compacts sperm chromatin during spermatogenesis (Lahn et al., PNAS 2002).

Each vial is supplied as a 50 µL aliquot of affinity-purified antiserum. For handling, store at -20 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; small-volume aliquots are recommended when the reagent is used across many experiments. The antibody is validated for western blot on whole-cell or tissue lysates run under standard denaturing SDS-PAGE conditions followed by chemiluminescent detection, and it cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of Y-linked gene function, male germ cell differentiation, and histone modification pathways. Calculated target molecular weight is 60.5 kDa. For research use only.
