CDX2 is a homeodomain transcription factor that directs intestinal lineage commitment and maintains the differentiated phenotype of gut epithelium, making antibodies against it workhorses in gastrointestinal research and surgical pathology. This mouse monoclonal IgG1 clone from Antibodies.com binds the human CDX2 protein and shows cross-reactivity with monkey tissue, supporting studies in primate models of colorectal carcinogenesis. Validated for western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunocytochemistry, the unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antibody and is intended for research use only, with aliquots recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycling. Nuclear staining in colonic crypts and colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines confirms its utility as a marker of intestinal differentiation, where it helps pathologists distinguish primary colorectal tumors from metastases that originate at other anatomic sites.
