Cysteine dioxygenase type 1 (CDO1) is the rate-limiting enzyme that oxidizes L-cysteine to cysteine sulfinic acid, feeding the taurine biosynthesis pathway and governing cellular cysteine homeostasis. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes mouse CDO1 and is supplied as 50 µl of antiserum validated for western blot applications. The antibody is useful for probing CDO1 expression in murine tissue lysates and cell models, supporting studies of sulfur amino acid metabolism, oxidative stress, hepatocyte function, and tumor suppressor biology, since CDO1 promoter methylation has been reported as a biomarker across multiple cancer types. Researchers commonly apply it at working dilutions appropriate for chemiluminescent western blot workflows, for research use only.
