CDKAL1 (CDK5 regulatory subunit associated protein 1-like 1) acts as a tRNA methylthiotransferase that installs the methylthio group at position 37 of tRNA-Lys(UUU), a modification required for accurate decoding of AAA codons during translation. Genome-wide association studies have repeatedly linked CDKAL1 variants to type 2 diabetes susceptibility, and beta-cell-specific loss of the protein impairs proinsulin processing in pancreatic islets, making it a frequent target in metabolic-disease research.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. It supports studies of islet biology, insulin translation fidelity, and metabolic disease models in rodent systems. The antibody is shipped refrigerated; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at -20 °C, with limited freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity across long-term use. Intended for research use only.
