This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent targeting Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 9 (CDK9), a ~42-43 kDa serine/threonine kinase that partners with Cyclin T1 to assemble the Positive Transcription Elongation Factor b (P-TEFb) complex. P-TEFb phosphorylates the C-terminal domain of RNA Polymerase II on Ser2, releasing paused polymerase and driving productive transcription elongation across most protein-coding genes.
Validated for Western blot across human, mouse, and rat samples, the unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilising cryoprotectant. The 100 µl volume supports multiple blotting experiments at typical working dilutions. Current research applications include studies of HIV-1 Tat-mediated transactivation, cardiac hypertrophy modelling, and oncology programmes evaluating CDK9 inhibition in acute myeloid leukaemia and MYC-driven tumours.
For research use only, intended for laboratories investigating transcriptional regulation, cell-cycle progression, or kinase signalling pathways.
