The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal reagent targets cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (CDK7), a ~39 kDa serine/threonine kinase that pairs with Cyclin H and MAT1 to form the CDK-activating complex (CAK). CAK phosphorylates and activates cell-cycle CDKs (CDK1, CDK2, CDK4, CDK6) to drive G1/S and G2/M transitions, while a separate CAK pool resides in the general transcription factor TFIIH, where it phosphorylates Ser5 of the RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain to initiate transcription.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera, this polyclonal antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples. Researchers commonly apply it to studies of transcriptional regulation, cell-cycle control, and oncology, where elevated CDK7 activity has been documented in triple-negative breast cancer, gastric cancer, and acute myeloid leukemia.

The unconjugated format allows pairing with user-selected HRP, biotin, fluorophore, or alkaline phosphatase conjugates for chromogenic or fluorescence-based detection. For best results, aliquot the antibody upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles; small working portions stored refrigerated at 4°C remain stable for routine short-term use, while longer-term storage as frozen single-use aliquots at -20°C preserves titre across many experiments.
