This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets CDK7 (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 7), a serine/threonine kinase that acts as the catalytic core of the CDK-activating kinase (CAK) complex and as a component of the general transcription factor TFIIH. Supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent supports Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

CDK7 plays a dual role in cellular regulation: it phosphorylates and activates cell-cycle CDKs (including CDK1, CDK2, and CDK4/6) to drive proliferation, and it phosphorylates the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II to initiate transcription. Because of this dual function, the protein is a relevant marker for studies of cell-cycle progression, transcriptional control, and DNA damage response pathways, and is widely investigated in cancer biology research.

Each 100 µl vial is aliquoted for routine use, and the high-glycerol formulation permits storage at -20 °C without freeze-thaw damage to the antibody. Researchers apply this reagent to probe CDK7 expression, subcellular localization, and co-regulatory interactions across lysates, fixed tissue sections, and cultured cells.
