Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) is a serine/threonine kinase that, unlike most CDKs, is not primarily regulated by cyclins but by its binding partners p35 and p39. It plays essential roles in neuronal migration, differentiation, axon guidance, and synaptic plasticity, and has been implicated in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as in certain cancers and pain signaling pathways.
This mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody from Antibodies.com targets the N-terminal region of CDK5 and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent. It has been validated for western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) applications and cross-reacts with samples from human, mouse, rat, and canine origins, making it a useful tool for neuroscience, cell biology, and translational research laboratories investigating kinase signaling and disease mechanisms.
