This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent targets Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 5, a proline-directed serine/threonine kinase whose activity is governed by the neuronal activators p35 (CDK5R1) and p39 (CDK5R2) rather than by cyclins. Supplied as a 200µl liquid aliquot in 1 mg/ml PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol at pH 7.4 by Antibodies.com, the unconjugated antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum and detects endogenous CDK5 (~33 kDa) in human, mouse, and rat samples. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, with recommended working ranges of WB at 1:500 to 1:1000 and IHC at 1:50 to 1:100, depending on tissue fixation and detection chemistry. Shipped at 4°C, the reagent should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, with freeze-thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity. The antibody supports neuroscience research into neuronal migration, axonal guidance, synaptic plasticity, tau and neurofilament phosphorylation, and the cytoskeletal dysregulation linked to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease pathology. It is also used in kinase signaling studies probing p35/p39 association, substrate recruitment, and aberrant reactivation of CDK5 in post-mitotic neurons, including stroke and ischemic injury models. As an unconjugated reagent, it integrates with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary detection chosen by the end user. Host: rabbit. Clonality: polyclonal. Isotype: IgG.
