CDK4 (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 4) is a serine/threonine kinase that drives the G1-to-S phase transition of the cell cycle by partnering with Cyclin D-type proteins to phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein (Rb). This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody, supplied at 100 µl per vial, was raised against CDK4 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples.

Researchers in oncology, cell proliferation biology, and cell-cycle checkpoint studies rely on this reagent to probe CDK4 expression in tumour sections and cell lysates. Deregulation of the CDK4-Rb-E2F axis is implicated across multiple human cancers, including melanoma, glioblastoma, and a subset of breast carcinomas, which makes CDK4 immunodetection a routine tool in translational research and in mechanistic studies of CDK4/6 inhibitor responses. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal reagents, supporting detection across a range of native and denatured CDK4 protein states.

For best results, aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge briefly before opening, and protect from light when pairing with fluorescent secondary reagents. Provided by Antibodies.com as a primary antibody reagent for research use only, this product is intended for in vitro laboratory research applications including protein characterisation studies and tissue-based expression profiling.
