Cyclin-dependent kinase 13 (CDK13) acts as a CTD kinase that phosphorylates serine 2 within the heptad repeats of RNA polymerase II, coupling transcriptional elongation to pre-mRNA splicing and 3'-end processing. The Antibodies.com anti-CDK13 polyclonal reagent is supplied as a 100 µl vial of unconjugated rabbit IgG, supporting western blot detection of endogenous human CDK13 in cell line lysates and tissue homogenates under research use conditions.
This reagent enables studies of splicing factor dynamics, transcription-coupled repair, and the overlapping but non-redundant roles of CDK13 and its paralog CDK12 in the DNA damage response. The unconjugated format pairs with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents chosen by the end user. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots preserves antibody binding activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the polyclonal IgG background yields broader epitope coverage than a monoclonal preparation when tracking multiple CDK13 isoforms in human samples.
