Phospho-specific polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com that selectively detects Cdk1 (also called Cdc2) when phosphorylated on tyrosine 15. Cdk1 is the master cyclin-dependent kinase that drives mitotic entry, and the Y15 site is added by Wee1 and Myt1 kinases to keep the cyclin B-Cdk1 complex catalytically inert until DNA damage and replication checkpoints are satisfied. Monitoring the pY15 modification therefore reports directly on checkpoint activation, Cdc25 phosphatase activity, and the G2/M transition in proliferating cells, making this reagent useful in cell cycle, mitosis, DNA damage response, and checkpoint-adaptation studies, including cancer cell line work.

Raised in rabbit and purified at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, this unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat Cdk1. It is supplied as 100 µl per vial, enough for multiple membrane probing experiments. For best activity, aliquot upon arrival, store frozen at -20°C or lower, limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light during handling.
