Description

This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against Cdk1/Cdc2 phosphorylated at threonine 161. It is validated for western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence applications, and reacts with human samples. The unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

According to the manufacturer datasheet, the antibody detects endogenous levels of Cdk1/Cdc2 protein only when phosphorylated at Thr161. It was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen, with a reported purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The target protein has a molecular weight of approximately 34 kDa. The reagent has been cited in one publication.

Background information supplied by the manufacturer describes CDK1 as a kinase that drives cells through the G2 phase and into mitosis, and outlines research showing that combined treatment with paclitaxel and duloxetine can switch CDK1 to a proapoptotic role in paclitaxel-resistant ovarian cancer cells.
