Anti-CDH8 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against Cadherin-8, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets a type II classical cadherin that mediates calcium-dependent homophilic cell-cell adhesion. CDH8 is expressed predominantly in the central nervous system, with notable enrichment in the cerebellum, hippocampus, and olfactory bulb, where it contributes to synaptic partner matching, axon guidance, and the formation of defined neuronal circuits during development. Rare coding variants and altered CDH8 expression have been reported in autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and congenital cranial dysinnervation disorders, making the protein a target of active interest in neurodevelopmental research.

Shipped as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.
