This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets the cadherin-23 (CDH23) protein, a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein most prominently expressed in the stereocilia of inner-ear hair cells and in photoreceptor cells of the retina. CDH23 assembles into the tip-link filament that gates mechanotransduction channels in hair bundles, and loss-of-function variants are linked to Usher syndrome type 1D and to autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss (DFNB12), making it a frequent target in auditory and retinal research programmes.

Prepared by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The 100 µl vial is intended for Western blot applications on human samples, supporting detection of full-length CDH23 in lysates prepared from cell lines and primary tissues. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognises multiple epitopes along the target, which can improve signal robustness across different sample preparations.

For handling, keep the vial refrigerated, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stock solution; dilute into an appropriate blocking buffer immediately before immunoblotting. Sodium azide is included as a preservative, so the reagent should be handled using standard laboratory safety practices.
