Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this CDH13-targeting primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied in a 100 µl volume and validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human and mouse samples. CDH13 (cadherin-13, also called T-cadherin or H-cadherin) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell adhesion molecule that lacks the transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains of classical cadherins and instead localises to lipid raft microdomains of the plasma membrane.

It mediates homophilic, calcium-dependent adhesion and acts as a binding partner for high-molecular-weight adiponectin. The protein is broadly expressed across cardiac, vascular, neural and renal tissue, and altered CDH13 levels have been reported in studies of atherosclerosis, angiogenesis and several solid tumours, where it has been described as a candidate tumour suppressor in lung, breast and colorectal cancers—making it a useful marker for cardiovascular, metabolic and oncology research.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the researcher's choice for chromogenic, chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection, supporting localisation studies on fixed tissue sections and expression profiling of endogenous CDH13 in cell or whole-tissue lysates. It is intended for research use only and should be stored according to the supplier's recommended conditions to preserve activity across repeated experiments.
