This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes CDC2, also known as CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1), a serine/threonine kinase that drives the G2/M transition and mitotic entry in eukaryotic cells. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) applications across human, canine, rat, and mouse samples.

CDC2 partners with cyclin A and cyclin B to form the M-phase promoting factor, phosphorylating substrates that promote nuclear envelope breakdown, centrosome separation, chromatin condensation, and spindle assembly during mitosis. Researchers use this reagent to track proliferation, study checkpoint control, and measure cellular responses to DNA damage or pharmacological inhibitors in cancer cell lines, primary cultures, and tissue-derived extracts.

The IgG2b isotype provides flexibility in secondary antibody selection, and the unconjugated format allows direct labelling with fluorophores, biotin, or enzymes when individual assays require a custom conjugate. Short-term storage at 4 °C is suitable for working aliquots, while longer term storage at -20 °C with proper aliquoting preserves antibody activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
