CD98, also known as SLC3A2 or 4F2hc, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that heterodimerizes with several amino acid transporters to regulate neutral and cationic amino acid uptake across the plasma membrane. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against that target and is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows, with cross-reactivity confirmed for human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum, the reagent binds both native and denatured CD98, allowing detection in cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and prepared ELISA samples. CD98 is broadly expressed on epithelial tissues and immune cell populations, and elevated surface levels are associated with activated lymphocytes as well as several solid tumor types, making this antibody a useful reagent for studies of cellular activation, integrin-mediated signaling, and amino acid transport.

The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which can be advantageous when probing evolutionary conservation of CD98 across human, mouse, and rat orthologs. Standard storage and handling practice is recommended to preserve binding activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the antibody is intended for research use only.
