Anti-CD95/FAS (C-terminus) Antibody

Offered through the Antibodies.com catalogue, this research-grade mouse monoclonal primary antibody is raised against the C-terminus of human CD95 (also known as FAS, Fas receptor, APO-1, TNFRSF6, or APT1), the death-receptor member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor superfamily that triggers FADD/caspase-8-mediated apoptosis upon engagement by FASLG. The immunogen is a recombinant fragment corresponding to amino acids 211–329 of human CD95, placing the epitope squarely in the cytoplasmic C-terminal region used to detect the mature ~45 kDa receptor. The antibody is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot of purified mouse IgG1 in unconjugated form, purified by antigen-affinity chromatography and formulated in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) containing 0.2 % sodium azide and 50 % glycerol; it should be stored at –20 °C in aliquots to limit freeze–thaw cycles. It is validated for Western blotting on human samples, with a recommended working dilution of 1:1000 (a 1:1000 dilution of this reagent has been used to detect FAS in 40 µg of cell lysates), and is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Investigators studying FAS/CD95 signalling, death-inducing signalling complex (DISC) formation, receptor-triggered apoptosis, or related non-apoptotic pathways such as NF-κB activation will find this clone a reliable reagent for detecting endogenous levels of the receptor in human cell and tissue lysates.
