CD9 is a member of the tetraspanin transmembrane protein family, anchored in the plasma membrane with four transmembrane domains and widely expressed on platelets, endothelial cells, and many additional tissues. There it participates in cell adhesion, migration, and the sorting of molecular cargo into extracellular vesicles. This Rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied in a vial at a 100 µl volume and is unconjugated, which leaves the choice of secondary label or label-free detection entirely to the end user. It is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry, supporting the visualization of endogenous CD9 in human, mouse, and rat tissue sections and cell preparations. Researchers frequently adopt CD9 as a marker for exosomes and small extracellular vesicles, and it is also used to characterize tetraspanin-enriched microdomains in membrane biology, in vitro cell culture, and other research workflows.
