This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets CD9, a 24 kDa transmembrane protein of the tetraspanin family that participates in cell adhesion, motility, and intracellular signalling. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, it is validated for western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Researchers use anti-CD9 antibodies primarily as exosome and extracellular vesicle markers, since CD9 is enriched on the surface of small vesicles released by many cell types. The reagent also supports studies of platelet biology, immune cell clustering, and cancer cell migration where tetraspanin-mediated membrane organisation is of interest. For western blot, the antibody is typically applied to reduced lysates and recognises the mature glycoprotein at roughly 22-27 kDa depending on glycosylation state.

Each vial contains 100 µl of ready-to-use stock. Aliquot on first thaw and store at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw exposure; the sodium azide additive permits short-term handling at 4 °C. The unconjugated format gives laboratories full flexibility to conjugate HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore according to the chosen detection chemistry.
