This rabbit monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the CD8A protein, a 32-34 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as a co-receptor for MHC class I molecules on the surface of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and a subset of natural killer cells. It is supplied as a 50 µL vial of unconjugated IgG intended for research use only, and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples.

CD8A (also referred to as T8 or Leu-2) supports antigen recognition by the T-cell receptor complex and is widely used as a lineage marker to distinguish CD8+ cytotoxic T cells from CD4+ helper T cells in tumor immunology, infectious disease studies, and transplant rejection research. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the researcher's choice for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection in IHC, IF, or WB.

Recommended storage is at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; protect from light and centrifuge briefly before use. The antibody is reactive with human CD8A; cross-reactivity with other species has not been established. Each lot is quality controlled to support reproducible staining and band patterns in routine immunolabelling protocols.
