Anti-CD8 Antibody [JXYT8]

The Antibodies.com primary antibody is a rat monoclonal reagent raised against mouse CD8, a T-cell surface marker expressed on cytotoxic T cells, natural killer cells and dendritic cells. The clone, designated JXYT8, was generated using mouse cytolytic T-lymphocytes as the immunogen and recognises the CD8 transmembrane glycoprotein. It is supplied as an IgM isotype antibody in unconjugated, lyophilised form, with purification carried out by Protein G affinity chromatography. The formulation is lyophilised from a solution of 0.01 M Phosphate Buffered Saline at pH 7.2, and the reagent is reconstituted with double-distilled water. Reactivity is reported for mouse samples.

According to a third-party overview, CD8 acts as a surface receptor that binds major histocompatibility complex class I and contributes to T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor, supporting the recognition and destruction of virally infected cells and tumour cells. The product is shipped at 4 °C; on arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided.
