This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets CD79b, the 37-39 kDa Ig-beta (B29) signaling subunit of the B-cell receptor complex. CD79b assembles into a heterodimer with CD79a/Ig-alpha on the surface of mature B lymphocytes, where its cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) couples antigen recognition at the membrane immunoglobulin to downstream Src-family and Syk kinase signaling.

Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, the reagent is validated for western blot and ELISA workflows on human samples and supports research into B-cell development, germinal-center formation, and BCR signalosome function. Because chronic active B-cell receptor signaling is a recognized feature of several mature B-cell neoplasms, investigators characterizing diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and related lymphomas routinely profile CD79b status; gain-of-function mutations in its ITAM tail have been reported in primary mediastinal and activated B-cell-like DLBCL subtypes.

With rabbit host origin, unconjugated format, and confirmed human reactivity, the antibody slots into standard immunodetection pipelines that pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents selected by the user, allowing flexible readout across blotting, plate-based quantification, and immunoprecipitation workflows.
