Manufactured by Antibodies.com as a primary antibody reagent for research laboratories, this reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody directed against CD71 (also known as transferrin receptor protein 1, TFRC, TfR1, Trfr, T9, or p90), a key membrane glycoprotein involved in iron uptake. The immunogen is a synthesized peptide derived from the N-terminal region of human CD71, and the antibody has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, ensuring selective recognition of endogenous levels of CD71 protein in validated samples. Supplied at 1 mg/ml as a 50 µl liquid formulation in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.02% sodium azide, the unconjugated preparation is intended for use in Western Blotting (WB) and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) workflows and has been confirmed to react with human samples. For long-term stability, the vial should be stored at -20 °C, where it remains viable for up to one year from the date of receipt, making it suitable for routine inclusion in standard laboratory freezer inventories. The polyclonal host (rabbit) format provides broad epitope coverage, which is advantageous when detecting low-abundance targets or when working with samples where a polyclonal reagent offers improved signal robustness compared with monoclonal alternatives. This product is intended strictly for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications, and researchers are encouraged to optimize working dilutions empirically for their particular assay conditions.
