CD71, also known as the transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), is a transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates cellular iron uptake by binding transferrin-bound iron. It is highly expressed on proliferating cells, erythroid precursors, placental trophoblasts, and many tumor lines, making it a useful marker for studies of cell growth, iron metabolism, and certain hematologic and solid-tumor contexts.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human CD71 target and is validated for Western blot (WB) and ELISA workflows. Provided as a 100 µl aliquot, the antibody supports detection of endogenous human transferrin receptor in cell lysates and recombinant protein samples, and it pairs cleanly with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for downstream readouts.

Researchers commonly apply Anti-CD71 antibodies to characterize receptor-mediated endocytosis, monitor erythroid differentiation, profile proliferative populations in mixed cultures, and explore iron-uptake biology in disease models. The polyclonal format offers multi-epitope recognition, which can be advantageous when probing denatured targets on Western blot membranes.
