Raised in rabbit and unconjugated, this primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes CD71, the transferrin receptor protein (TfR1 / TFRC). The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA applications on human and mouse samples.
CD71 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein responsible for iron-bound transferrin uptake and is widely used as a marker of rapidly proliferating cells, erythroid precursors, and activated lymphocytes. Researchers commonly target it in tumor biology studies, hematology investigations, and blood-brain barrier work, where the receptor defines brain capillary endothelium. The unconjugated format allows laboratories to pair the antibody with the secondary reagent, fluorophore, or enzyme conjugate appropriate to a given protocol. Store the vial at 4°C for short-term use; aliquot and freeze at -20°C for longer-term storage to preserve titer through repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
