The CD63 antigen belongs to the tetraspanin family of transmembrane proteins (TM4SF/TSPAN30), spanning the membrane four times and acting as an organizational hub for complexes that mediate cell adhesion, intracellular signaling, and vesicular trafficking. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds the CD63 target and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples.

CD63 is broadly expressed on the surface of platelets, activated granulocytes, mast cells, melanocytes, and vascular endothelial cells, and concentrates in late endosomes, lysosomes, secretory vesicles, and the plasma membrane. Because it is enriched on intraluminal and small extracellular vesicles, the antigen is widely adopted as a canonical exosome marker in extracellular-vesicle characterization. The reagent's cross-reactivity profile specifically confirms reactivity with human and mouse orthologues, supporting translational work in melanoma biology, hematopoietic cell signaling, and tumor-microenvironment research.

Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum in a single-use vial for research use only, the reagent is shipped refrigerated and should be aliquoted upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Host species is rabbit; no fluorophore or enzyme conjugate is attached, so the antibody can be paired with a user-selected HRP- or fluorescence-based secondary detection system.
