Anti-CD59 Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com that targets the GPI-anchored complement regulator CD59, an ~18–25 kDa cell-surface glycoprotein that blocks assembly of the membrane attack complex (MAC). Loss of CD59 from hematopoietic cells drives paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and altered CD59 expression has been linked to tumor immune evasion and autoimmune tissue injury, which is why immunology and complement laboratories track this marker in lysate and tissue work.

The antiserum is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. In IHC, the antibody labels vascular endothelium, renal glomerular structures, and placental trophoblast, supporting studies of complement regulatory capacity within vascular beds. For Western blot, the reagent is used on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes following SDS-PAGE separation of cell lysates.

Research use only. Aliquot upon arrival and store refrigerated; for extended retention, freeze to limit loss of polyclonal titer across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of HRP, biotin, fluorophore, or colloidal-gold conjugates to the investigator, supporting chromogenic, fluorescent, and electron-microscopy detection workflows.
