From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent targets CD52 (also referenced as CAMPATH-1 antigen, Cambridge pathology 1 antigen, CDW52, He5, and human epididymis-specific protein 5), a small GPI-anchored lymphocyte surface glycoprotein. The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in the human CD52 sequence, and the polyclonal pAb detects endogenous levels of CD52 protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling cross-species western blot studies of lymphocyte surface markers and immune cell phenotyping.

Affinity-purified by epitope-specific chromatography from rabbit antiserum, the reagent is supplied at greater than 95% purity as assessed by SDS-PAGE, with the expected target band migrating at approximately 15 kDa. Each vial contains 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Aliquoting on receipt limits repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with their preferred HRP- or fluorophore-labelled secondary reagent for chemiluminescent or fluorescent western blot detection.

The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage along the CD52 peptide backbone, which is useful for tracking both native and denatured target in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. Investigators working on alemtuzumab binding, complement-mediated lysis, GPI-anchor biosynthesis, or immune cell depletion models can use this antibody as a primary detection reagent in reproducible western blot workflows.
