This Rabbit polyclonal reagent targets human CD50 (also known as ICAM-3), a cell-surface immunoglobulin-family glycoprotein that acts as a counter-receptor for LFA-1 during leukocyte adhesion and immune synapse formation. Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody in a 100 µl volume, it is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows against human samples.

The polyclonal format exposes multiple epitopes across the ICAM-3 extracellular region, which is useful when probing native lysates or recombinant fragments where a single monoclonal epitope may be lost during denaturation or cleavage. Because the target is heavily glycosylated, researchers often see a broad band pattern in Western blot that reflects the heterogeneous glycan additions carried by CD50 on different leukocyte subsets.

The unconjugated preparation gives laboratories flexibility to couple it to HRP, biotin, fluorophores, or gold depending on the downstream readout, making it a versatile starting point for both ELISA and chemiluminescent Western blot detection. For immunohistochemistry-style or flow cytometry applications, the same antibody can be paired with a labeled secondary to extend its use, although the validation provided here is specifically for WB and ELISA on human specimens.

Routine handling follows standard antibody storage practice: keep refrigerated for short-term use, or aliquot and freeze for longer-term stability, and protect from light when working with conjugated derivatives downstream.
