CD48 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface glycoprotein and member of the CD2 subfamily within the immunoglobulin superfamily. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the human CD48 protein, also known by alternative designations including SLAMF2, BCM1, and BLAST-1, which is broadly expressed across hematopoietic lineages including T lymphocytes, B cells, monocytes, and NK cells.

The unconjugated reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial and has been validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows. As a polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, it offers epitope diversity that can be advantageous when probing conformational or denatured forms of CD48 in different assay contexts. The antibody is reactive with human samples, supporting research into immune cell signaling, costimulatory pathways, and the CD2-CD48 interaction that contributes to T cell adhesion and activation.

Potential research uses include studies of lymphocyte activation, investigation of SLAM family receptor signaling, and characterization of CD48 expression on immune cell subsets in vitro. Researchers working in infectious disease, autoimmune mechanism studies, or transplant immunology may find this primary antibody useful for exploring CD48-mediated cell-cell communication in primary cell culture, lysate preparations, and other research use only applications.
