CD42b, also known as GPIbα, is the ligand-binding subunit of the platelet GPIb-IX-V receptor complex and the primary attachment site for von Willebrand factor during vascular injury. This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against the human CD42b target and supports research into platelet adhesion, thrombus formation, megakaryocyte biology, and the molecular basis of Bernard-Soulier syndrome.
Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum in a single vial, the reagent is validated for western blot and ELISA applications. The polyclonal format offers multi-epitope recognition of the human protein, making it useful for immunoblotting of platelet lysates and megakaryocyte-derived cell lines. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to conjugate the antibody to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores of their choosing.
Host species is rabbit; clonality is polyclonal; conjugate is unconjugated; reactivity is human. For research use only. Aliquot upon first use to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody titer for downstream western blot assays.
